Corps Imperial Des Dragons Story 1997
The Margrave’s steed carried him forward and he lunged at the Soldier, but it was met with a parry. The Vampyre snarled and raised his sabre again, but his opponent had already struck, driving the blade of his weapon into the skull of the horse. The animal reined throwing its rider backwards. The noise as the tossed body hit the ground could only mean that Wintermore had perished.
Gui, considering the duel to be over, turned to see how his friend faired and was knocked down by the dead Margrave. The Vampyre raked his sabre down the raw Elf’s face. Gui screamed in pain as the blade tore into his eye. He rolled onto his side, now blinded with blood and agony. He could not see the attack that he knew must end his life.
